63/365 - Paratong Sunset

63/365 c2 - Paratong Sunset

04 March 2010

While walking home after a day of strolling on Day 62, I was able to see a clear view of the sunset from the town's plaza and thought I should go to Paratong Beach to check out the sunset. I did just that on Day 63, and it was a very relaxing way to contemplate and be thankful for all the blessings that have come my way.

Kids taking a dip in the beach came to me and asked if I could take their pictures, but I still chose a picturesque view of the sunset as my picture of the day. I didn't wait for the sun to fully set anymore, just being able to see it come down was okay enough for me.

03 March 2010

Supposed to be a day to go out with my sister, I was a bit sad when she said that she will no longer traveling to La Union. Still, I carried on with the day and went to places listed on my little notepad. This church was the Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Bauang, La Union - the last place I went to after going to Balaoan Church, The Bongol Grotto, and Midway Grill. I was happy that even if I was alone, I was able to do the things I had to do, and I am thankful that the churches were open when I arrived.

61/365 - Kakaibang Euphorbia

61/365 c2 - Euphorbia

02 March 2010

I have been out almost everyday since I arrived in La Union, so I took Day 61 as a time to stay home and just chill out. I was not in the mood to roam around the neighborhood, so I just went to check on my Aunt's plants, and interestingly enough, I got to see this kind of euphorbia plant. Typical euphorbia I see had big petals, but this one had small ones, and the middle part looked like a cup candle. At least, even if I didn't go out, I was able to get a picture for the day. :)

60/365 - Electric Float Parade

60/365 c2 - Electric Float Parade

01 March 2010

My Aunt told me that there will be an Electric Float Parade along the Quezon Avenue in San Fernando, La Union so I didn't hesitate to come and witness it. The banners said that the parade will be at 6PM, and as early as 5:30PM I was already near the plaza so I could have a good place. I started getting annoyed when ushers asked us to go the other way because the place where we were at should be vacant. Add to that was the long time waiting. Imagine, the parade started at 10PM! My gosh! I was ranting the whole time - standing for four hours without any food and water wasn't a joke at all! But, because I was there already, might as well suck it all up and wait. In the end, it wasn't what I was expecting, but I am still thankful.

28 February 2010

I went to San Fernando City in hopes that I could watch a program in celebration of the La Union Day. There was no program, so I just went to the St. William the Hermit Cathedral to say my personal prayers and to take pictures. I am in the course of revisiting the 2008 places I have been to so visiting the church was like "hitting two birds with one stone." I was hoping to hear the mass as well, but I was told that I still had to wait more than an hour before the next mass, so after saying my prayers, I left and went home.

27 February 2010

I arrived in Baguio City around 5AM, and as early as 6:30AM, I was already by the side lines of Session Road to wait for the parade. I wasn't able to enjoy the festival that much, but I was happy I was able to take a picture of this. It's hard to be sitting down as the parade progresses, but adversaries are sometimes blessings in disguise.

57/365 - Resolutions = iPod

57/365 c2 - iPod Winner

26 February 2010

I left the house early because I still had to attend the awarding ceremony for the Coke Zero 2010 Resolutions. Before 2009 ended, I saw a Facebook friend joined in the promo, and thinking that I got nothing to lose, I joined as well. Never have I realized that my simple resolution would make me win an iPod Nano (8gb) and a Nike Sports Kit.

I arrived late in the awarding ceremony, but it's still okay, at least I was able to be part of the group picture. Thank you, Coke Zero!
