120/365 - Alaminos Church

I told Grace the day before, whatever happens, I will travel to Alaminos City on Day 120 so I could visit the church. Good thing I don't have to travel alone as my cousin Dang also needed to go to the main land to buy some goods for her little Sari-Sari Store. Even if she didn't have any definite plans to go to Alaminos, her knowing I'd go there made her come with me. I guess being the eldest of us cousins and that she took care of my own little sister while she was still a baby (thus taking care of me, too, being only 8 years older than my sister), made her seem think I was still this young girl she has to protect and take care of. I do love the gesture, and I appreciated all she has done for me in this vacation.

We were supposed to walk to a mall when she felt she needed to pee. I told her I am not really feeling any need to use the rest room, so we decided to just meet at the church - so I could do my thing without really using so much of the time. It was just a short visit, I just said my prayers and quickly took pictures, and I finished just in time my cousin came in. We traveled back home shorty thereafter, and even if I still haven't seen the magnificent 100 Islands located in this city, having a picture of the church was okay enough for me to be happy.

62/365 - Bauang Church

Supposed to be a day to go out with my sister, I was a bit sad when she said that she will no longer traveling to La Union. Still, I carried on with the day and went to places listed on my little notepad. This church was the Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Bauang, La Union - the last place I went to after going to Balaoan Church, The Bongol Grotto, and Midway Grill. I was happy that even if I was alone, I was able to do the things I had to do, and I am thankful that the churches were open when I arrived.

59/365 - Altar

I went to San Fernando City in hopes that I could watch a program in celebration of the La Union Day. There was no program, so I just went to the St. William the Hermit Cathedral to say my personal prayers and to take pictures. I am in the course of revisiting the 2008 places I have been to so visiting the church was like "hitting two birds with one stone." I was hoping to hear the mass as well, but I was told that I still had to wait more than an hour before the next mass, so after saying my prayers, I left and went home.

16/365 - Towards Destiny

On Day 16, I met up with shutterbug friends for some "church architecture" photo walk. Halie invited me a few days before the meet up, and although I knew that I was already able to take pictures from the churches we would visit, I still came and met up with them to give myself a chance to take a look at it on a different angle.

We visited three churches - Manila Cathedral, Binondo Church, and San Agustin Church. This picture was taken from the choir loft of the San Agustin Church, while a bride walked down the aisle on her wedding day. Time and time again, I've been praying, wishing, and hoping that when my turn comes, I will also get married here. In a way, this picture sums up that wish.

This picture was taken using Halie's Nikon Coolpix P80 camera. It's a point and shoot camera, but it's already going towards DSLR as users can change its shutter speed and aperture. Halie wanted me to use it just so I would know how to operate a Nikon camera. My companions wanted me to use it in full manual mode, but I still can't get ahold of the relationship between shutter speed and aperture, so most of the time I used the camera on P mode. Maybe next time, Halie would lend it to me again so I could learn more. Big thanks to you, dear sister, for lending me your camera.
