156/365 c2 - Water Dance

156/365 c2 - Water Dance

05 June 2010

Day 156 was a busy day for me. I met up with two of my friends for lunch, went to do a nude photo shoot with them (one of us was the model), and as our model left to meet up with her other friends, Halie and I decided to go to Eastwood City in Libis to eat dinner and check out the sights.

This picture was taken in Eastwood City. Last time I set foot there on a night time was back in 2003, and of course it wasn't as spectacular as it is now. After eating dinner, we went to the fountains, because Halie told me the water dances every 30 minutes until midnight on weekends.

I took many pictures for this day, but I decided to use this as my photo for the day mainly because somehow the water formed a heart, and being a hopeless romantic that I am, I loved it. Using a point and shoot camera, my camera's ISO was so high, and because my camera is having difficulty handling low lit situations, I am happy with how this picture came out. I remembered just clicking the shutter as fast as I can just not to miss out on the fountain's change of movements. With this picture, I am loving my p&s more and more.

122/365 - Last of Bolinao

122/365 c2 - Goodbye, Bolinao

02 May 2010

Despite the food poisoning and the non-stop trip to the toilet the night before, I still decided to travel back home on Day 122, for reasons even I couldn't explain. My relatives wanted me to stay one more day, but my feet were too itchy to take that bus home. I guess I am missing my mom and my life back at home.

This was the last picture I took from Bolinao... we were at the Binabalian Loob Port waiting for the boat going to the main land, and seeing the kids at this boat just caught my attention. I did take pictures of them, but I also remembered to take pictures of the scenery. I'm definitely going to miss Bolinao.

121/365 - Fish Pen

121/365 c2 - Fish Pen

01 May 2010

Me watching over cousin Ailene's daughters (Grace is her eldest) as she went to the port to transport the charcoals, and me sleeping over her house got me a "ticket" to come with them as they visit cousin Ailene's boyfriend at the fishing place. Her boyfriend is a supervisor over the fishing place, and since it was a lax time (they just had a big harvest and it was basically time to start again), we were just by this fish pen with a hut to spend the day at. It gave me the time to read a good book, enjoy the view, and love the fact that I am somewhere in the middle of the sea.

Nearing sunset, cousin Ailene took her two younger daughters to the town proper, while her boyfriend followed after feeding the fishes, leaving Grace and I at the hut. Instead of feeling sorry for ourselves, we just took the "alone" time to take pictures. I sure hope to take a much better sunset picture than this, but we were fetched by cousin Ailene's boyfriend saying it was time for us to go home.

117/365 c2 - Sunset Boating

27 April 2010

After a very tiring trip to Patar and to some places in the town of Bolinao, Day 117 was supposed to be a "rest day" for me... until I asked my niece Grace if she would like to walk to Macallawan to take pictures of the sunset. She was happy with the idea, so around 4:30PM, we walked more than a kilometer to the old Macallawan Port. Things seemed to have changed since I last took a picture of the sunset from this place... I guess the earth really had shifted its axis after the earthquake in Chile.

Anyway, my camera's batteries died on me after I took some images, but I was lucky to have taken this image. Grace and I were trying to balance ourselves in the rocks by the shore because we didn't really want to get wet. Through the dried branches of tree obstructing our way, I saw this man on his little boat. Instincts told me he might be someone catching crabs, and loving the tree branches adding drama to the background, I took a picture.

The walk back home was a bit tiring, but it was a sweet day.

116/365 - Bolinao Lighthouse

116/365 c2 - Bolinao Lighthouse

26 April 2010

My Aunt Jo already knew that my main purpose of vacationing in Bolinao was to check out the sceneries and take pictures. She told it to cousin Dang (her eldest daughter and the eldest of us cousins), and in their efforts to make this vacation truly memorable, we went to the mainland to check the beaches. We didn't like the view from the first beach we went to so we hailed a tricycle to Patar. It was a very long trip, but somewhere along the way, I was able to see the lighthouse.

Ever since I could remember, I have already expressed my desires of seeing this lighthouse. At times, my brother and I would express our rants and disappointments of not being able to see the lighthouse despite the fact that our mother hailed from this town. Upon seeing the lighthouse from the tricycle, I knew I just had to make a way to take a picture of it.

Before going home from Patar Beach, we asked the tricycle driver to stop for a while as I take a picture of it. It was a very short visit, but seeing the lighthouse face to face was all worth the few seconds.

104/365 - At the Chapel

104/365 c2 - At the Chapel

14 April 2010

There are two spots in Tagaytay near to the hotel, and because we've already went to the Picnic Grove, we went to the People's Park in the Sky before we travel back home. At first my companion didn't want to go there anymore, but my persistence came through, and we were there already. I didn't get to enjoy the place as fog was so thick! Good thing I was able to take some pictures before the place got covered with fog.

Hiking up to the park was so tiring, but I managed to pull it altogether. Seeing some people posing by the chapel, I also did the same, as Wednesday is my self portrait day. The two days stay in Tagaytay has been good. Not what expected, but it was good.

103/365 - Picnic Grove

103/365 c2 - Picnic Grove

13 April 2010

The first time I set foot in Tagaytay City, I was in first year college and we just went there to shoot a short film for a project. Before traveling back to Manila, us classmates passed by the Picnic Grove, but because cameras aren't that abundant those days (circa 1996), I never had any picture from it. The second time I went there was on Day 103, thanks to a gift certificate I won.

The picnic grove was just a few meters away from the hotel, and because we arrived early, we decided to go there first before checking in at the hotel. It was a nice place to visit, but it was a bit of a sunny day, with fog covering a good view of the Taal Volcano, so in a way I could say that I didn't enjoy it 100%.

This picture was one of the last pictures I took from the Picnic Grove. I don't know who the couple is, I just saw them walking, and giving me a view of the Taal Volcano, I just took the liberty of taking their picture. Big thanks to my companion who lent me his DSLR Camera.

94/365 - Space Shuttle Ride

94/365 c2 - Space Shuttle Ride

04 April 2010

In May of 2009, I first set foot in Enchanted Kingdom, the country's most popular theme park. At that time, the Space Shuttle Ride was closed due to an accident, but recently the ride is already open for the public.

On this day, I went back to the park and I was so in awe at how some people brave enough to do the ride... seeing how it goes, I am sure it would freak the heck out of me if I was there. I mean, I took on the Flying Fiesta ride and was nervous a bit, what more if I do this. I just told them I'd just take pictures instead of doing the ride. But of course, if I have close friends with me, I might just be brave enough to do the ride as well.

Big thanks to Enchanted Kingdom for the invitation.

92/365 - The Morning Sunlight

92/365 c2 - The Morning Sunlight

02 April 2010

It's been three days since I embarked on a new morning routine: jogging. Our neighbor Ria called on me if I would want to join her in jogging, and seeing nothing wrong about it, I went with her. First day was just around the street, 'til we decided to go towards the plaza. Near the church, I saw the sun rising up, and thought it was a great site, so for this day, I brought my camera with me, so I could snap pictures whenever something fancies me.

I don't know until when this jogging would go on - but I do hope that even if she gets back in school (she's a professor), I could still jog for my own sake.
